Alison's Story

After 25 years in primarily senior positions in the corporate world, Alison Hutchens was diagnosed with cancer. “I really immersed myself in mindfulness and it changed my life,” she says. “The changes were so profound that I felt I had to share this gift with others.” The diagnosis brought about a lot of reflecting, and in that time, Hutchen's realized she had never experienced a self-care program. She felt one of her roles in life should be to teach others how to care for themselves, the way she hadn’t for so long.

Hutchens has now been teaching mindfulness for more than a decade and runs corporate and community programs for both adults and children. She’s learned from some of the best meditation teachers in Australia, India, and the U.S. Her expertise involves navigating change through large, complex, uncertain, and volatile high-pressure sales environments, boosting staff retention, ensuring customer satisfaction, and optimizing stakeholder management. She is also a registered Mental Health First Aid Facilitator, and is passionate about teaching workplaces and communities the skills to support people with mental-health challenges.
