Lama Yeshe has long had a thirst for understanding — while growing up in England, Sunday school teachers requested his parents not bring him anymore since he asked so many questions that it distracted the other students. By 19, he was hungry to discover life’s true purpose and began studying meditation, eventually realizing that he wanted to devote his life to it by becoming a monk.
Yeshe has studied with many prominent teachers, including H.H. Karmapa, Lodro Namgyal, Khenpo Tsültrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and the Dalai Lama, and he’s practiced everything from Anapanasati, Vipassana, and insight meditations to sound healing and chakra aligning. His passion for teaching began with young monks in the foothills of the Himalayas; since then, he’s branched out to educate a lay audience. Yeshe's podcasts and guided meditations, rich in everyday examples that make the lessons come alive, have been listened to more than 2 million times.
In addition to his work in the mindfulness space, Yeshe is also the founder and trustee of Sangye-Menla Trust, a hostel in the Punjab region of India that provides people from the north of the country, including Tibetan refugees and Himalayans, with access to stress-free medical care.
