Timea Urban

After years of studying neuroscience nursing and practicing as a registered nurse in the trauma center of St. Michael's Hospital, Timea Urban was burnt out. Not only was she physically exhausted, but she was emotionally disconnected as well. Too busy to worry about herself, Urban carried on as usual, ignoring all signs that her mental and spiritual health were suffering. But that all came to a screeching halt as her private life began to unravel right before her eyes. It was then that Urban realized she needed a change. Still passionate about healing people, Urban dived into the world of holistic healing. She registered for her 300-hour yoga teacher training at Ahimsa Yoga; obtained her Reiki Level 1, 2 and Master Usui certification from Tasha Rooke; and participated in an eight-week mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) course and a two-day intensive for healthcare professionals at The Centre for Mindfulness Studies. This was the path she was meant to be on. Now, Urban hosts international Reiki certifications and yoga retreats; she uses breath, meditation and mindfulness to teach clients to live slowly and mindfully while prioritizing self-love and mental health.
