What is the cost to turn hair or cremated ashes into a diamond?

The cost begins, for us at Eterneva, at $3,000 for a .1 carat diamond, and then it will go up from there depending on the color and the size. It is a time and machine intensive process. First, it has to be purified, and our ashes are currently purified with aerospace engineer technology, so none of this is inexpensive by any means. The diamond itself is then grown individually in isolation.
A lot of people are familiar with the lab grown diamond industry but the way lab grown diamonds are grown typically is very different from how Memorial diamonds are grown. Lab grown may get 20 to 50 plus diamonds from growth sessions. So that can be two to six weeks depending.
We do one diamond at a time because that's the way it needs to be done. We need to be absolutely sure there is only one person’s carbon in the diamond. We’re also using hand diamond cutters rather than lasers. We’re just adding as much personalization to the process as possible.
The high end of the cost is a constantly moving target because we have recently gotten the ability to grow, for example, two carat diamonds and three carat diamonds. Our one carat diamonds are often somewhere around $17- 18,000. Most people are getting from a .4 to .6 and those average around $5000, which comes out less expensive than having a full traditional burial.
