Description
This warming ragi and banana porridge makes for a comforting, gluten-free breakfast. Popular in Swahili and Indian cuisines, ragi is packed with fiber, minerals, and polyphenols that help stabilize blood sugar. Ingredients
3 cups MAKES
- 2 Tbsp (35 g) ragi flour
- 1 banana, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup (250 ml) milk of your choice
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) water

Step 1
In a medium saucepan, add the water and whisk in the ragi flour. Switch on the heat and whisk the mixture to prevent any lumps. After a minute, add half of the milk, to the simmering mix. Reduce the heat, and continue whisking until it comes to a boil, about 3 minutes. Take this off the heat and set aside. -
Step 2
In a blender, add the chopped banana and remaining milk, and blend. Add in the still warm ragi mixture, and blend until well combined. Serve warm.
