Opening Ceremony at Al Bayt Stadium

Magic and gratitude! These words describe exactly what I felt while attending the opening ceremony of the World Cup 2022 at Al Bayt Stadium in Doha. It was a true celebration of life, humanity and sport. 

All day, I’ve soaked in the excitement and joy palpable in the air and was truly uplifted by the sounds of 60,000 football fans cheering the biggest sporting event of the year.

The opening show was an exhilarating affair with superb performances by star performers like Morgan Freeman and BTS singer Jung Kook. The crowd greeted World Cup mascot La’eeb with a lively applause and the glimmer of flashing phone cameras.

 Truly a night to remember and the perfect kick-off to a month of fantastic football!
