A writer, journalist, and fragrance specialist, Victoria Frolova is fascinated by scents and flavors. After receiving a graduate degree in political science, she followed her nose and decided to infuse her life with more color and scent by becoming a professionally trained perfumer. Victoria studied at International Flavors & Fragrances in NYC, where she dove deep into fragrance chemistry, history, and composition.
Celebrated perfumer Sophia Grojsman, creator of fragrances including Yves Saint Laurent Paris and Calvin Klein Eternity, served as Frolova’s mentor. Since she has dedicated her time to searching for and learning about raw materials and aromas around the globe.
Embracing the world around her in all of its complexity, but always stopping to smell the roses, she is the founder-editor of boisdejasmin.com — a website devoted to sensory pursuits — and a member of the prestigious Société Française des Parfumeurs.
A two-time recipient of Fragrance Foundation FiFi Awards for Editorial Excellence, she writes for the Financial Times HTSI Magazine on topics related to lifestyle, art, and fragrance. Her articles have also appeared in Elle, Marie Claire, and the New York Times Magazine. She teaches perfumery courses and scent seminars, also working with universities and research institutes. Frovola resides in Brussels.
