Amrita's Story

Amrita Sen has been a prominent Bollywood playback singer and musician for more than 10 years. In 2009, she performed at the Academy Awards, with music legend AR Rahman, and sang Jai Ho from the Oscar-winning movie, "Slumdog Millionaire." She has performed and recorded with several global recording artists and musical groups including Justin Timberlake, Weezer, Timbaland, Pitbull, and the LA Philharmonic. Most recently, she scored and performed in Leonardo DiCaprio’s HBO climate change documentary "Ice on Fire." Amrita’s Bollydoll art collection was featured during Miami Art Week (when Art Basel Miami Beach descends on the city), presented by Timbaland, and has since been used in collaborations with Mac Cosmetics, Barnes & Noble, and Pier 1.


Amrita is a U.S.-based singer, artist, film producer, and designer of Indian-themed music, products, and entertainment for global audiences. She is the lead of RoundGlass Living’s Music Collective where she composes music, sounds, beats, and moving art to support the platform. Her influences derive from classical piano, strings, and the flute, with a fundamental grounding in both Western Classical and North Indian motifs. Her long-form melodic music is scored and accompanied by moving art selected by Amrita from her various art collections. Her compositions and accompanying moving art are also available on the RoundGlass YouTube channel.


Amrita has a B.S. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She serves on the Board of Overseers of the Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania.
