The Wholesome Kitchen
Pooja Dhingra begins her book with a confession about her long battle with weight and diet issues since childhood. Often called India’s Macaron Queen, Dhingra trained in Switzerland and at the Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, then returned to set up a popular patisserie in Mumbai. Despite her successful career and busy life, health issues were a constant battle. Dhingra’s realization that moderation and healthy choices were more sustainable than deprivation or fad diets made her look at her own recipes anew. Co-author nutritionist Viddhi Dhingra says, “Our relationship with food is reflective of our relationship with our body and ourselves.” The book is a careful curation of delectable recipes that offer healthy alternatives and seasonal twists on smoothies, soups, salads, pastas, jams, and desserts — without compromising on taste or nutrition.
