The reduction of the body using water whereas cremation is the reduction of the body using flame. It uses water, heat and pressure to reduce the body so, like cremation, you get remains back that are essentially the bone. You get more back about 20-20-30% more than with cremation because cremation burns away a lot more but alkaline hydrolysis just removes everything, so the bone stays a bit more present. It's a lighter whiter powdery texture.
